White Salmon Backyard Half
- Correr
- Media Maratón
- 6 km
This is a stunning, point-to-point trail half marathon with sweeping views of the White Salmon River Valley and Columbia River Gorge. The race starts at the Husum Fire Station and travels up the Indian Creek Road to the Weldon Wagon Trail where runners will climb 1500 feet to epic views. Enjoy a few miles of gravel and a short road section that leads to the fully stocked Cherry Lane Fire Aid Station. Once recharged, participants will dive back into spring flower-lined trails leading into the streets of White Salmon and finish at the White Salmon Fire Station.
100% of proceeds from this event will be donated to the Volunteer Firefighters Association of SW Fire & Rescue. The event is part of the White Salmon Wildflower Festival, where the balsamroot should be putting on a fantastic show along the course.
Check-in early! Walkers (and smart runners who desire better toilet facilities and a gymnasium to warm up in) must collect their bib at White Salmon Fire Dept. and be on the bus by 7:30 AM. Check-in is at the White Salmon Fire Department starting at 7:00 AM. All participants need to be checked in by 8:20 AM and will board a bus to the start in Husum. The shuttle bus departs from White Salmon at 8:30 AM (allow time for check-in). Please note that check-in is required even for those scheduling their own shuttle to the start. No dogs are allowed on the course as it goes through cattle pastures. Thank you!
