Firefly Trail Race Series

Firefly Trail Race Series is back for its 5th Annual event, offering a unique opportunity to run or walk along the historic Athens Branch of the Georgia Railroad. This series aims to raise awareness of the benefits that the Firefly Trail will bring to the community.

The Race Series consists of four in-person and virtual events, providing participants with the chance to explore the beautiful towns along the 39-mile transportation corridor. The Firefly Trail is a non-motorized rail-trail that will connect Athens and Union Point, passing through three counties and eight communities.

Participants can choose from different course options, ranging from the 3.1-mile distance. Prices vary depending on whether you want to include a series shirt and additional race shirts. The series offers a great deal, with each race costing only $17.50 without a shirt and $22.50 with a shirt.

The race locations and dates are as follows:

- Snowflake 10K in Winterville, GA on 01/13/24 (new date)

- Maxeys Model Mile 5K in Maxeys, GA on 05/18/24 (new date)

- Restoration Run 5K in Crawford, GA on 09/02/24

- Junction Jamboree Jog 5K in Union Point, GA on 09/28/24

Please note that there is a 200 person cap for each race, so it is recommended to register early to secure your spot. Register by 12/26/23 for the Snowflake 10K to receive a race t-shirt.
