The 2025 Fourth of July Run for a Reason supports the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood Foundation (SUDC.org). This year’s event will be hosted by the Frey Family in memory of their son Wesley who passed suddenly and unexpectedly at 17 months old. The Fourth of July Run for a Reason will be in Orinda, CA, with the start and finish in front of the Orinda Community Center. Both the 2 mile and 5 mile races will start at 8am right after the flag raising. The 2 Mile Route is out and back to Manzanita Dr. along Camino Pablo (Be careful when crossing Miner Rd. use crosswalk signals.) The 5 Mile route follows the 2-mile route but instead of turning around at Manzanita Dr. continues straight on Camino Pablo. Turn right into the Wagner Ranch School parking lot, follow the parking lot up to Bear Creek Rd. Cross Bear Creek Rd and enter the Old San Pablo Trail. Turn right to cross bridge and follow trail through EBMUD gates. Turn around at Bear Creek Trail and follow the same trail back through EBMUD land, across Bear Creek Rd, through Wagner Ranch School Parking lot, along the Camino Pablo, back to the Orinda Community Center.
