Gerry Boyle Firecracker Kids Triathlon

Event Details

The Gerry Boyle Firecracker Kids Triathlon is set for Friday, July 4, 2025 at the Robbins Family YMCA located at 201 Talbot Avenue, Cambridge, MD 21613. This annual tradition will start at 8:00 AM and is expected to conclude by 11:00 AM.

Age Categories

• Firecracker Kids Triathlon (6-7 years old)
• Firecracker Kids Triathlon (8-9 years old)
• Firecracker Kids Triathlon (10-11 years old)
• Firecracker Kids Triathlon (12-13 years old)
• Firecracker Kids Triathlon (14-15 years old)

Race Details

This event includes swimming, biking, and running components appropriate for each age group:

• Swimming: Pool swim distances of 25 yards (6-7 age group), 50 yards (8-9 age group), 100 yards (10-11 age group), 150 yards (12-13 age group), and 200 yards (14-15 age group). Flotation devices are allowed.
• Biking: A 2-mile bike ride where training wheels are permitted for younger athletes.
• Running: Either a 0.6-mile run for the 6-9 age groups or a 1-mile run for the 10-15 age groups.

The Firecracker Kids Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event, providing a great opportunity for young athletes to experience competition in a supportive environment.

Registration

Registration opens on May 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM EDT. The participation fee is $33.30 inclusive of fees.
