Half Day at the Lake

Race Details

The Half Day at the Lake race offers both a 12-hour race and a 6-hour race, taking you along one of the premier lakefront paths through Chicago's north shore. This event features breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline and a route designed for runners, walkers, and those with strollers or wheelchairs.

Course Information

The course is a 2-mile loop along a shared paved path and some crushed gravel. Runners will have access to multiple aid stations and water fountains along the route to ensure a refreshing experience.

Awards

All finishers will receive a custom hand-made award and a can of Hop Water courtesy of our sponsors at Sketchbook Brewery. Enjoy running for fun with no individual finisher awards.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is available on Friday, September 19, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Commonwealth Running Company and on race day, September 20, from 6:00 AM to 6:45 AM for the 12-hour race, and until 12:45 PM for the 6-hour race.

Parking

Free parking is available at the NU Lakeside Parking Structure near the start/finish area. Additional street parking is available a short walk away. Make sure to check parking restrictions to avoid any fines.

Refund Policy

Refunds for cancellations cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of this small independent race, but participants may request deferrals to next year's event if they notify us by August 31, 2024.
