About the Event
Hunter S. Thompson Fear & Loathing
A Savage Journey through the Heart of the American Dream. Jointly presented by Haight Ashbury Ultra Society, Zombie Runners, and Fat Ass Runners.
Starting at Twin Peaks, this single-loop course takes you to various tourist spots. It's a "No Fees, No Awards, No Aid, No Wimps" event, but aid stations are provided.
Distances: 50K or 50 Miles
Cutoff: 4hr 45min or 11:45 am at mile 25 for the 50-mile race.
Charity: Supporting Noé Castañón Shoes For Runners.
Note: Starting in 2024, 50-mile runners run an additional 0.67-mile loop.
