About the Event
Last year's inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Happy Valley was a rousing success. Race with us in 2024! This 16-week program will get you to the start line whether you are just starting out in triathlon or a seasoned veteran. Training is more fun together, even when we are not in the same location. Program Includes: 16-week Training Program (beginner or intermediate) delivered via Training Peaks, Educational Clinics, Private Facebook Group, Weekly Electronic Newsletter, Support from Sonic Endurance Coaches for the duration of the program. BEGINNER TRAINING PLAN (Please note – this is not a SOFA to HALF IRONMAN training program): Prior to starting this program participants should be able to swim 1000 yards, bike continuously for 60 minutes, and run continuously for 30 minutes. We highly recommend that you have completed an Olympic Distance triathlon prior to registration of this program. Training will consist of approximately 6-7 sessions per week (2 swims, 2-3 bike sessions, 2 running sessions, plus one recovery day per week). The total training volume and the volume of specific workouts will increase over the course of the program and your success is dependent on completion of the trainings. INTERMEDIATE TRAINING PLAN: Prior to starting this program participants should be able to swim 1500 yards, bike continuously for 90 minutes, and run continuously for 60 minutes. Training will consist of approximately 7-9 training sessions per week (2-3 swims, 2-3 bike sessions, 3 running sessions, plus one recovery day per week). The total training volume and the volume of specific workouts will increase over the course of the program and your success is dependent on completion of the training.
