Join Race the Region and the Old Sheriff's House Foundation on Saturday, November 8, 2025, for a fun and exciting 5K run/walk through the heart of Crown Point, Indiana. This fall event offers participants a chance to experience a flat, scenic route along beautiful, tree-lined Main Street, perfect for both competitive runners and casual walkers alike.

Race Details:
Date: Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.
Location: 226 South Main Street, Crown Point, Indiana (Old Sheriff's House - Downtown Crown Point)

Course: The 5K route begins in front of the historic Old Sheriff's House and Jail, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Old Sheriff's House and Jail was once considered one of Indiana's finest and most secure jails. However, on March 3, 1934, the infamous gangster John Dillinger made a daring escape from this very jail, defying its reputation as "escape-proof."

Event Benefits
This race benefits the Old Sheriff's House Foundation in Crown Point. The mission of the Old Sheriff's House Foundation is to preserve the architectural integrity of the former Lake County Indiana sheriff's residence and jail building listed on the National Register of Historic Place s and to compile relevant cultural and historic documentation for conveyance in a balanced presentation. This will be accomplished by restoration of the site for educational, informational, and research purposes to the general public. Usage may include house and jail interior museum, lecture and meeting space and commercial and retail enterprises. The Old Sheriff's House Foundation Incorporated is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

5K Awards: Custom, unique awards for overall and age group categories. The awards ceremony will commence at approximately 9:30 AM or after the last participant finishes the race.

The race course will remain open for competition for 1hour and 15 minutes from the official start of the race. After this time the race competition will conclude all course support will end.
