This run/walk is more than just a 5K—it’s a race with purpose. By participating, you are directly supporting Global Medical Brigades, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to improve access to healthcare in underserved communities around the world. Global Medical Brigades partners with local communities to establish sustainable clinics, health education programs, and medical resources that address long-term health needs. 100% of the proceeds from this race will go toward sending the JMU Global Medical Brigades chapter to Panama, where we will work alongside licensed medical professionals to provide free healthcare to underserved communities. To make this mission possible, each member of Global Medical Brigades at JMU is responsible for raising $2,500 or more, which covers essential costs such as airfare, housing, food, and in-country transportation. Your support through this race helps turn that goal into a reality. Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, your participation helps bring critical healthcare to those who need it most. Together, we can take meaningful steps—one mile at a time.
