John S. Rose Heart of Faith Memorial Run

Family and Friends will come together on February 14, 2025 to remember John Rose and to continue his legacy of faith. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, where he was very involved in the youth groups. He was very passionate about keeping youth involved in the church. We are raising money to establish a scholarship fund at Our Lady of the Valley. We will give a scholarship each year to a graduating high school senior who has participated in the youth groups and in the life of the church. All proceeds from the run will be given to the scholarship fund that is established at the Diocese of Birmingham. John passed away from a heart attack on November 12, 2024 but his heart of faith lives on, inspiring youth to stay involved in the church.

Registration Includes: Race fee, Event T-shirt if registered by January 30th. After January 30th, shirts are not available.

Race Schedule

• 5K begins at 1:00 p.m.
• Kid's mile fun run begins at 1:45 p.m.
• Awards ceremony 2:30 p.m.

Awards

5K Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female runners. Additionally, the top finisher in each of the following age groups (male and female) will be recognized: up to age 9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

Kid's Run Prizes: Overall male first and second, Overall female first and second.

Bib and t-shirt pick up: Day of the race, Saturday, Feb. 14 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Heardmont Park (5348 Cahaba Valley Road)
