The event is held on the enchanting island of Malta, where history comes to life with every step you take. Malta's storied past stretches back 7000 years, making it an open-air museum that captivates the imagination.

One remarkable chapter in Malta's history is the legacy of Grand Master Jean de La Valette, often referred to as "The Shield of Europe." This marathon honors him and finishes in the same historic fortifications that defended Malta during the Great Siege of 1565.

The route is entirely coastal and is Malta's only AIMS certified Full & Half marathon route.

The event is also an Abbott World Major Qualifier.
