About the Run
The meeting point is at the Locust Grove trailhead at South Mountain Reservation at 6:30 AM, followed by a 6:50 AM train to Broad Street, Newark, arriving at 7:16 AM. The run will take you back to the start on the beautiful Lenape Trail.
The Trail
Established in 1982, the Lenape Trail runs approximately 34 miles, with yellow blazes guiding the way. The trail features sidewalks, surfaced trails, dirt paths, and aqueducts. Starting in Newark, the route includes urban parks and beautiful views, ending at the Passaic River.
Aid and Support
This run is self-supported; participants are expected to carry their gear and nutrition. Aid will be available at designated points along the trail.
