About the Event
Lifeline's R(un) for One 5K
Started in 2011, this annual event brings together families, friends, and community partners to support vulnerable children globally. On Saturday, August 23rd, runners can participate in Birmingham at Dawson Church's Recreation Center or virtually with the "Run Where You Are" option.
In-Person (Birmingham): The race takes place at Dawson Church’s Recreation Center and runs through Edgewood in Homewood. Enjoy bounce houses, food trucks, face painting, and family activities.
Virtual: Participate from anywhere! Virtual runners receive a race packet (T-shirt, bib, medal, resources) and can run anytime on or before August 23rd. Share photos with #RunForOne.
Schedule:
- 7:00 AM: Registration and Vendor Booths open
- 8:00 AM: 5K begins
- 8:45 AM: Fun Run begins
- 9:45 AM: Awards
Packet Pickup: Friday, August 22nd, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at TrakShak280
Award Categories: Top Overall Male/Female; Top three Male/Female in each age group: 19 and Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
