About the Event

Miracle Mile

The Miracle Mile is an annual 1 Mile downhill point to point race in downtown Houlton, ME during Midnight Madness. The race is the primary fundraiser for The Makenna Ward Miracle Mile Foundation which provides The Makenna Ward Scholarship to our local high schools for students wishing to pursue a education and a career in nursing medical fields.

About the Race

The Miracle Mile is a 1 Mile downhill race for Runners and Walkers. The race course starts at the intersection of Grant and Military Street and runs west towards downtown. Runners make a slight right onto Main Street near County Yankee Grocer (about half a mile in) and continue to the finish line which is just in front of the County Co-Op in historic Market Square.

Early registration is available online, but same-day registration is also provided at Military Street Baptist Church (307 Military St.). The church will be open from 4:00 pm to 5:30pm for registration. The race starts promptly at 6:00 pm. After the race, a reception and award ceremony will be held at the finish line. Water will be available. The race serves as the opening event of Houlton’s Midnight Madness festival.
