About the Event
NCYMCA's Pie Run
The NCYMCA's Pie Run takes place on Thanksgiving Day. This USATF sanctioned race, originally founded in 1985 by the Newport Running Club, collects food donations for the MLK Community Center and raises funds for the Y's Community Support Campaign. The event typically draws over 2,000 participants. This year, participants can choose between in-person and virtual options. The race includes a 5 Mile Competitive Run, 3 Mile Noncompetitive Run/Walk, 5 Mile Run (virtual), and 3 Mile Run/Walk (virtual).
Race Details:
- No on-site registration on race day.
- 5-mile race is chip-timed; 3-mile race is not timed.
- Race begins at 8:30 AM.
- Course is dog and stroller friendly.
Bib Pickup:
- Monday, 11/24: 12 PM-4 PM
- Tuesday, 11/25: 11 AM-5 PM
- Wednesday, 11/26: 9 AM-4 PM
