Join Finding The Fells on an explore along some of the rugged gritstone edges in the Peak District with panoramic views (weather permitting) and finishing with a descent into the woodland that is Padley Gorge. Our experienced (and insured) run leader will show you this stunning part of the Peak District.
Ideal for: those seeking a little more distance and ups and downs than our shorter runs. Pace will be sociable with plenty of pausing to admire the views.
Distance & Elevation: 13 miles/2,000ft
Terrain: grassy fields, compacted dirt, mud, rock, gravel, road.
Required kit: off road/grippy running shoes essential, along with buff, waterproof jacket, snacks, water and any personal meds and running pack. Extra long sleeve layer and hat/gloves advised. See https://findingthefells.co.uk/requirements-equipment/ for more details.
Route description: Starting from Grindleford train station we'll head north through Bolehill Wood and Quarry, cross the A6187 and pass by the Mother Cap and Over Owler Tor rock formations then towards Toothill Farm. We'll then work our way towards the Long Causeway by Dennis Knoll car park and up to the trig pillar at High Neb. Then heading south east along Stanage Edge and Burbage Edge we'll again cross the A6187 to descend through Padley Gorge back to the train station.

Finding The Fells is not aimed at beginner runners. Please only book a place if you feel capable running this distance.
