The event lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes, featuring a 2.2km swim from the Pilchard Inn, Burgh Island, on the incoming tide to The Quay, Bantham. This is followed by a short sharp run/walk up the hill towards Bantham. The finish line is in the lane from Bantham Quay where participants can enjoy a beer and a pasty at The Sloop.
Prizes will be awarded for various categories, including one for participants over 50 and a prize for the best village. Villages include Bantham, West Buckland, Thurlestone, Hope Cove, and Rest of the World. If you do not belong to a specific village, you can choose RoW. However, if that category is sold out, feel free to select any village you prefer!
The Pub2Pub is a volunteer-run event, with all proceeds going to the BSLC and BSC learn to sail scheme, having raised over £26k since 2014.
All participants must check their emails on Friday, August 8th, for final race instructions, as timing and locations are subject to change due to weather conditions and tide states. In case of bad weather, the race will be rescheduled to August 10th at 5:30 PM.
Entry is limited to those over 18. All participants must be able to swim 2km in 50 minutes or less. To ensure everyone's safety, swimmers who fall behind may be removed from the water.
