Racing Against Hate 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Fun Run

Join the First Coast YMCA and Jewish Community Alliance for the 2nd Annual Race Against Hate 5K Run/Walk at the Winston Family YMCA on Sunday, February 22, 2026! Let's lace up and come together to celebrate unity, diversity, and inclusivity in our community. Whether you're running to beat your personal best or walking to show your support, this event is more than a race-it's a movement for change and hope.

The annual event will include a 5K run or walk over the Acosta Bridge in the main road (southbound) starting at 1pm. A 1 mile fun run has been added to the riverwalk starting at 2pm. Both runs are open to runners and walkers of all levels. You will earn a Racing Against Hate T-shirt and custom medal. The Unity Village will be open pre and post event with community partners, activities and food trucks. A brief warm-up/stretch will be held by our YMCA & JCA instructors for all ages & abilities.

As part of this movement to Promote Unity and Dismantle Hate, we invite you to get your friends involved & support your efforts! Through our fundraising portal, you can invite others to show their support & encouragement of a BETTER YOU & a BETTER COMMUNITY. Proceeds will benefit the First Coast YMCA and Jewish Community Alliance's Together Against Hate: Promoting Unity in the Community partnership to bring education, conversation and speaker events in 2026-2027.

Pre-race Packet Pickup

• Packet Pick up at the Winston Family YMCA, 221 Riverside Ave: Feb 19th: 9AM-9PM, Feb 20th : 9AM-8PM, Feb 21st: 9AM-5PM, Feb 22nd: Day of Race (prior to 1pm Start Time)
• Packet Pick Up at the Jewish Community Alliance (JCA), 8505 San Jose Blvd: Feb 21st: 9:30AM-2PM and 4PM-6PM, Feb 22nd 9:30AM-2PM

• 12pm Unity Village Opens with vendors and community partners, Race packet pick up and Day of registration opens
• 12:45pm Warm-up and announcements
• 1pm 5K Race begins
• 2pm 1M Fun Run Begins
• 2:15pm Awards Ceremony

Chip Timing

The race will be chip timed using a bib chip system. Chips will be distributed at the packet pickup. All runners must cross the mat at the finish line with their chip properly attached to their shirt to score in the race. Chips will NOT have to be returned at the conclusion of the race at the finish line. For Scoring purposes: Over All Awards will be based off RACE START TIME. Age group awards will be based off of your individual CHIP TIME.

Race results will be available live online from this site: Secondwindresults.com. Runners can also have individual results printed after their race at the Second Wind Timing results tent.

Awards

Overall Awards will be presented as follows: Overall - 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place. 5K AGE GROUPS - 10 YEAR INTERVALS. Age group awards will be presented to the top men / women /NB in the following age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 Plus. *Overall awards are based on Official Start Time. Age Group Awards are based off Individual Chip Time.
