Event Overview

Run the Rails is a fun race experience benefiting the Elburn Parks Commission on Saturday, August 16th, 2025. We will host a 1-mile fun run/walk, a 4-mile run, and a 7-mile run, with all races starting and finishing at Prairie Park (3rd and North Street near the library), Elburn, IL.

Course Description

The courses cross the Union Pacific West rail line via the Anderson Road bridge, offering stunning views of Elburn and the surrounding countryside.

Schedule

• 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 7:15 AM
• 7-Mile and 4-Mile races begin at 7:45 AM

Pricing

• 1 Mile Fun Run: $5.00 (Early Bird Pricing) $10.00 (Regular)
• 4 Mile Run: $25.00 (Early Bird) $30.00 (Regular)
• 7 Mile Run: $30.00 (Early Bird) $35.00 (Regular)

Register by August 4th to guarantee a race tank top.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup available on race day or at designated locations leading up to the event.

Awards

All participants age 1-12 in the 1 Mile Fun Run will receive a medal. For the 4 and 7-mile races, awards go to top finishers in each age group.
