Event Overview
Run the Red Desert is an annual ultra-marathon held in South Pass City, WY, dedicated to the conservation of the Red Desert's rugged landscape. This event celebrates the unique ecosystem and historical significance of the area.
Course Information
This year's races will be loop courses starting and finishing at the South Pass City Historic Site, featuring stunning views of the Continental Peak and Oregon Buttes.
- 50 KM: Starts at 8:00 AM. A challenging course that showcases the vast Red Desert and Wind River Mountains.
- 25 KM: Starts at 10:00 AM. A beautiful route that allows participants to enjoy the scenic grandeur of Wyoming's landscapes.
- Kids Race: A fun 30-minute looped race for kids of all ages, held during the main event.
Registration Details
Registration opens on January 1 and closes on September 22. Distances changes and bib transfers must be completed by September 22.
Location
South Pass City is a historic gold mining town located between the Northern Red Desert and the Southern Wind River Mountains. It serves as the start and finish line for the event.
