Sam's Last Stand
Register Saturday, Feb 28, 2026 @ 6:00 AM. This 96-mile Lone Star Hiking Trail race starts at Trailhead 1 and finishes near Cleveland, TX. 25 runners will have 36 hours to complete the course. Minimal water will be provided along the course; drop bags are allowed. A small registration fee helps cover water and provides a LSHT patch; leftover funds go to the LSHT Club. Runners must have the route loaded on their phones.
Course Information: The LSHT is marked with aluminum markers and wooden signs. Follow LSHT signs only. Respect other hikers; on roads, stay left. Beware of wildlife and aggressive farm dogs. Recommended gear: rain jacket, gloves, beanie, 500 extra calories.
