The Schenck Forest Trail Race is a unique challenge in Raleigh's hidden gem of trails. This 6.2-mile trail race consists mainly of single-track trails through the creeks and hills of Schenck Forest, adjacent to Umstead Park. The course winds throughout the forest, crossing streams, bridges, and along the sandy banks of Richland Creek.
Purpose and Community Support: This race benefits Hope and Vine, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit. Some proceeds and all donations go directly to Hope and Vine.
The Race Venue: The Carl Alwin Schenck Memorial Forest is a 245-acre forest located in western Wake County, about 10 minutes from the NC State campus.
