Screaming Monkey - A Wild Race around a Chimpanzee Sanctuary

The 7th annual Screaming Monkey will kick off at Eddie D. Jones Park in Keithville, Louisiana on the 8th of November 2025. The park is known as The Monkey Trails due to its proximity to a National Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Runners will hear the nearby primates during many sections of the trail as the course encircles the sanctuary.

Monkey Trails is a Top 10 Mountain Bike destination in Louisiana and provides ample loops; runners can opt for a 10k, 25K, 50K, or 50-mile race. The trail features varied terrain including technical forest tracks and rolling clay hills.

• 50 Miler: Finishers will earn a custom Screaming Monkey belt, navigating through 3 loops of a challenging 15.5 mile course.
• Course Details: Mainly single-track trails with some equestrian paths, this course includes a total elevation gain of around 1100 ft. per loop.
• Aid Stations: Multiple aid stations available throughout the course with provisions for drop bags.
