It’s time to gear up for the Southern Freeze 2026 races! The SF50/50 is an urban run along the stunning Columbus, GA, and Phenix City, AL, Riverwalks, giving you amazing views of the Chattahoochee River. Even in the cold, the charm of these towns shines through! You’ll pass highlights like the world’s longest urban whitewater course, Columbus State University, The National Infantry Museum, and Golden Park. Both the Freeze (January 24, 2026) and the Fried (August 15, 2026) start and finish at Scofflaw Brewing in Columbus, GA — the perfect spot to kick off and celebrate a big day on the trails and streets.
You’ve got two choices: Join the Southern Freeze races to enjoy the winter fun. Or, if you’re feeling extra brave, go for the Freeze & Fried combo. That gets you into both the winter and summer races in Columbus, plus you’ll score a discount and a special award for completing races in both seasons.
Here’s the breakdown:
That’s a lot of running! Aid stations will be stocked with Southern ultrarunning favorites like chicken and dumplings, sweet tea, grilled cheese, cookies, and more. You’ll also have plenty of hydration options like Coke, water, and CeraSport (thanks, CeraSport!). Every runner gets a T-shirt and beanie, and all finishers will receive a race medal. The 1st place overall finisher in each event will receive a special award.
So whether you’re an ultramarathon pro or a first-timer, you’ve got plenty of time to get it done. For all the details (course info, packet pickup, awards, etc.), check out Project42Running.com.
