Fernie Tears and Gears was inspired by two friends who loved to trail run and mountain bike, but could never find an event to compete in together. Thus, Fernie’s first Mountain Duathlon was born in 2010.

When: Saturday, August 30, 2025, 9:00 a.m. MDT
Where: Elk Valley Nordic Centre, Fernie, BC, Canada
Race Info: Trail Running and Mountain Biking Duathlon. Classic Solo (Run then Bike), or Classic Team. Youth Race (under 14).
Entry Fee Includes: Commemorative hat, Post-Race BBQ by donation, Pint of FBC Beer (kid friendly version available), Aid Station, Draw Prizes, and Podium Prizes.
Pricing: Classic $105 (12+), Youth (7-14yrs) $45.
Registration: Closes Saturday, August 16, at midnight.
