The Hoot Half Marathon & 10k Trail Race

Join us for the 6th Annual Hoot Half Marathon & 10k Trail Race at the Rocks and Roots Trail in Alum Creek, Ohio on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 8:00 am. The Rocks and Roots Trail Runners Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to building and maintaining trails in Central Ohio, has built the only trail designed by runners for runners. Get ready to get dirty and take on the challenge!

The Hoot Half Marathon covers a distance of 13.1 miles, while the 10k covers 6.2 miles. The prices for both races are $40.00 through May 30th, $45.00 from June 1st to June 30th, $50.00 from July 1st to July 31st, and $60.00 from August 1st to race day.

All participants will receive an event shirt and a finisher's medal. Packet pickup will be held at Fleet Feet Sports in Lewis Center before the event on Friday through Saturday during normal business hours. Race day packet pickup will begin at 7 am at the race site at Alum Creek State Park.

The course layout is subject to change, but the start of the race is located just off of Hollenback Rd and just south of the dog park (3993 Hollenback Rd Lewis Center, OH 43035). The elevation gain is 381 ft, and the elevation loss is 367 ft.

If you need help training, Fleet Feet Sport's Trail Crew is geared to the newer trail runner and is designed to train new trail runners for The Hoot Half Marathon and 10K Trail Race.
