Join E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness and Cause of E.F.F.E.C.T for the 6th Annual Metropolitan 5k race! The race is held on Juneteenth to commemorate the holiday and bring awareness to the overall health benefits of physical activity and mental wellness, specifically in underserved communities. The Metropolitan 5k exemplify community and open to all fitness levels. Grab a friend or your family and come RUN YOUR RACE!

The Metropolitan 5k is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier!

All proceeds from The Metropolitan 5k go towards programming and executing some of our most impactful programs such as the Back 2 School Drive and Holiday Giveback with Atlanta Public School students.

YOUR 5k REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

• Race day t-shirt (for the first 2000 registrants)
• Race medal (for the first 2000 registrants)
• Age Group Finisher Awards

AWARDS: Awards are given for the overall male and female finisher, and top male and female finisher in each age group. Awards winners are based on NET TIME. Only TIMED runners can qualify for awards.

REGISTRATION PRICES:

• $25 - February 1st - February 8th
• $35 - February 9th- February 28th
• $45 - March 1st - March 31st
• $55 - April 1st - April 30th
• $65 - May 1st - June 18th

There is no race registration on race day!

Race bib & T-Shirt PICK-UP: Race Bib & T-Shirt pick up will be held at E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness beginning on June 1, 2026. An official schedule will be shared closer to the day of the event.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE: This is a draft schedule and is subject to change.

• 4:00 am: Race bib pick up opens
• 6:00 am: Race bib pick up closes
• 6:15 am: Race Day Opening & Welcome
• 6:30 am: Participant Warm Up
• 6:45 am: Race participants to gather at start line
• 7:00 am: 5k Official Start

Race Rules: To ensure all race participants safety, participants should run inside the coned path only All participants must be checked in with their bib's by 6am. NO EXCEPTIONS The Metropolitan 5k is open to all ages and fitness levels The Metropolitan 5k is open to participants ages 15 and older All race participants acknowledge the family friendly atmosphere of the event and agree to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them Only registered participants with a bib number are able to run the race The Metropolitan 5k team, E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness staff, and Officers of The City of Atlanta reserve the right to remove or exclude any participant from the days events for reasons deemed necessary

Transportation & Parking: Carpooling is highly recommended There is NO Parking at E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness on Race Day Parking is available at Metro Lane Fun Center on a first come, first serve basis If you require special parking or other ADA accommodations, please email [email protected]

VIRTUAL RACE: The virtual option allows you to run or walk anywhere, even indoors on a treadmill, at your own convenience. Please note we do encourage you to participate with us so you will have the weekend to submit your times. Complete the 5k on your own time and at your preferred location. You can submit your virtual race results and photos via the race registration website. You will receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal after the event.
