Event Details

We're looking forward to having you join us on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. for The Runners Shop "Longest Day" Ekiden Relay Race.

Due to restrictions put in place by the Toronto Regional Conservation Authority at Tommy Thompson Park, we can accommodate a maximum of 35 teams. To ensure broad participation, please enter no more than 3 teams from one club.

What is an Ekiden Relay?

An Ekiden relay is a long-distance running team event involving a ceremonial Tasuki sash that is passed among runners. In our event, each team will collectively run the distance of a marathon with relay-style racing.

Team Structure

• Each team consists of 6 members.
• 2 runners will complete 10 km each, 3 runners will complete 5 km each, and 1 runner will complete 6.2 km.
• The 6.2 km runner will wear the Tasuki sash as they are most likely to be the finishing runner.

Registration

The team registration fee is $180 (i.e., $30 per person). The team captain is responsible for registering the entire team and ensuring all members are informed about team details and updates.

Awards

The grand prize of HOKA shoes will be awarded to one random team in the race. Additional prizes will be awarded to top teams in the women's and mixed categories.
