Tough Cookie 8K Trail Race

Race Info

The Northport Running Club's Tough Cookie 8K is a challenging and fun race entirely on trails in Sunken Meadow State Park, followed by a raffle and holiday cookie fest. Bring your own favorite recipe or just enjoy cookies made by local bakeries, and our race volunteers. Slow runners and fast walker's welcome. All net proceeds are donated to local charities. Past recipients include the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference, The Ecumenical Lay Council Northport Food Pantry, Opening Word Program and Island Harvest. Race Details

This is an 8K (5 mile) trail race set in one of the most beautiful locations on Long Island. The run is mostly on trails. The course starts down at sea level but takes you through a scenic tour of the park with striking views of the Long Island Sound from the cliffs on the way back to the finish. This is the only race on Long Island with cookies at the water stops, free professional race photos by Long Island Runner Photos (LIRP), and post-race cookies. A race not to miss!

Start is 10:00am sharp rain or shine from Sunken Meadow State Park, parking field 3. Refunds will not be distributed. All net proceeds donated to local charities. Due to a supply issue, the headbands will only be available while supplies last

Registration and Bib Pickup Options

Bib pickup and late registration will be available on race morning from 8:30-9:45am. Day of race registration costs $35 cash/check. All participants will receive a fleece headband with registration, while supplies last.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top three finishers in Open Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and the top three finishers in 5-year age groups.
