Description: The Trails Annual 5k isn’t just another marathon; it’s a movement to bring awareness to the mental health struggles faced by many in our community. The statistics surrounding mental health are sobering. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experience mental illness each year, and 1 in 6 youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year. The need for mental health support has never been greater, and our community is stepping up to make a difference. Our mission for the Trails Annual 5k is to raise awareness and support for the mental health challenges faced by youth, teens, adults, and families in our area. Issues like bullying, depression, anxiety, addiction, identity struggles, inclusion, trauma, and abuse can have devastating effects on individuals and families. By participating in this event, you’re helping to shine a light on these issues and provide much-needed support to those who are struggling.
