About the Event

Twin Mountain Trudge - January 10, 2026

Lace up your shoes and brace yourself for the 22nd running of this winter classic. The 2026 race will be held on January 10th!

Courses

  • Single Loop ‘Classic’ Race: Approximately 10.2 miles. Hilly, cold, and windy, with long stretches of thigh-deep snow, some ice, and 2000 feet of climbing. One unmanned aid station midway. Very challenging, expected completion time 3-5 hours or more.
  • Double Loop ‘Marathon’ Race: Approximately 20.5 miles. Two loops run in the same direction. Includes the unmanned aid station twice and a fully-stocked aid station at the halfway point (start/finish) with warm food. Challenging, comparable to a 50k race. Cutoff Time: Finish first loop in under 3 hours and 30 minutes to continue.

Rules and Required Gear

NOT ALLOWED: Snowshoes, skis, or other flotation devices.

ALLOWED: Ski or trekking poles, traction devices (e.g. MicroSpikes/YakTrax), grit.

MANDATORY (checked at registration and finish line): 40 oz of fluids, 400 calories of food, firestarter, wind coat, long pants, warm hat, gloves or mitts, emergency whistle, Mylar emergency “space” blanket, headlamp or flashlight for the second loop (22-mile race).

BE PREPARED: There is no way off the loop until the finish. If you get into trouble, rescue may take hours.
