47th Annual Vicksburg Run Thru History

Celebrating its 47th year, the Vicksburg Run Thru History 10K road race is held every year, rain or shine, on the first Saturday in March. Since the first 10K race in 1980, the race has grown each year and now is one of Mississippi's largest road races. A 1 mile event was added in 1985 and a 5K event was added in 1989. Again this year, we will use chip timing!

Team Challenge: The largest Walking Team will be awarded a team trophy. Competitive run and walk teams will receive a 1st, 2nd, 3rd group trophy based on the top 3 finishers in each team.

Registration Fees:

• 10K Run: $44.79 (Nov 3 – Mar 2), $50.14 (Mar 3 – Mar 6)
• 5K Walk: $44.79 (Nov 3 – Mar 2), $50.14 (Mar 3 – Mar 6)
• 1 Mile Fun Run (Cannonball): $23.39 (Nov 3 - Mar 6)

Packet Pickup/Race Amenities:

• Friday Night: 4-7PM at Hampton Inn
• Saturday Morning: 7-7:50am at the Vicksburg National Military Park
• Run Thru History shirt (first 800 guaranteed)
• Hot dogs, fruit, water, sports drinks & beer for all participants
• Live post race music from The Chill!

Awards & Age Groups:

• Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Masters awards for 10K Run and 5K Walk.
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for 10K Run and 5K Walk in age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over.
• One Mile Fun Run: Overall male and female awards. First 100 finishers guaranteed a medal.

Course Information: The 10K run, 5K race walk, and 1 Miler courses are entirely within the Vicksburg National Military Park. The 10K run starts at 8:00 a.m., the 5K race walk at 8:05 a.m., and the 1 Miler at 9:30 a.m.
