Wild Azalea Trail Challenge

The Wild Azalea Trail Challenge takes place on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 6:00 AM CT in the Evangeline Ranger District of the Kisatchie National Forest, just outside Alexandria, Louisiana. This event offers various distances for runners and mountain bikers, including a 50-mile run, 50-mile mountain bike, 27-mile run, 27-mile mountain bike, half marathon, and 10K run. The 26-mile Wild Azalea Trail is the longest continuous trail in Louisiana. The cutoff for all races is 8:00 PM CT or when they run out of beer.

Start Times:

  • 50 Mile Run: 6:00 AM
  • 50 MTB: 8:00 AM
  • 27 Miler: 8:15 AM
  • 27 MTB: 8:30 AM
  • 1/2 Marathon: 9:00 AM
  • 10 K: 9:00 AM
