Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series

Welcome to the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series! This series is designed for both new and experienced trail runners alike, featuring 3 races in December and January with both short and long race distances. It's a great winter buildup for events like HTC's Mountain Mist 50K.

The courses offer beautiful mountain scenery, bluff views, and creek crossings. Aid stations will be provided with various refreshments. Marco's Pizza will be available at the finish line of each race.

Races:

• December 20th, 2025 - Frozen Yeti: 5 Mile, 10 Mile
• January 3rd, 2026 - Frozen Trash Panda: 10K, Half Marathon
• January 17th, 2026 - Frozen Goat: 15K, 30K

Registration:

The race series bundle is capped at 250 runners. Signing up for a series bundle offers discounts compared to individual race registration. All series participants receive a t-shirt, finisher awards, and a series plaque.

Packet Pickup:

Packet pickup is available the day before each race at RunningLane (2407 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL 35801) from 12pm-5pm, or on race morning from 6:00am - 6:45am.

Awards & Weather:

Age group awards will be given for all races. Average winter temperatures in Huntsville range from 25F-35F (low) to 45F-55F (high). Cutoffs are loose, with a suggested 15-minute mile pace for the Short Series and a 17-minute/mile cutoff for the Long Series.
