Hike Details
Join us for a 12-mile round trip hike along the beautiful Columbia Trail and Ken Lockwood Gorge Trail. We will walk out on the top trail and back along the gorge. Pack a snack or lunch to picnic in Califon. Optional endpoints allow you to shorten your hike by turning around at any point.
Start and Finish: Trail head in High Bridge, NJ. Please arrive by 10:20 AM for a 10:30 AM departure.
Distance: Approximately 12 miles round trip.
Terrain: Crushed gravel trail, with some hills and rocky sections on the return trail along the river.
Difficulty: Moderate. Pace will be about 2.8 - 3 MPH.
Bathrooms: Available at the start in High Bridge and a portable in Califon.
NO Dog Policy: Dogs are not permitted on this walk.
Dress: Depending on weather, traction devices, hiking boots, and poles may be necessary.
Post Hike Food/Drink: Optional gathering for food and drinks in High Bridge after the hike (your tab is your own).
Transit: No trains or buses on Sunday. Carpooling is an option. Advance arrangement is required for NYC transit meetups.
Parking: Free parking is available in the lot across from the trailhead in High Bridge.
