2026 5K RUN FOR THE BOOKS

Event Details and Schedule

Join us in supporting literacy and the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library. Our 14th annual 5K RUN FOR THE BOOKS begins and ends at the Haralson County Historic Courthouse, built in 1892. Each registration by April 6th guarantees our custom T-shirt. Sign in begins at 7:30am and the race begins at 8:30am with police escort. We will award top trophies for best male and best female run times. We have awards for 12 age groups. We provide 2 water stations on the route, along with snacks and drinks at the finish line. As our event is the major fundraiser for our small library, we cannot offer refunds for inclement weather. Plan to run, RAIN OR SHINE. We hope it shines, as this is also the day for the City of Buchanan's FAIR ON THE SQUARE. Lots of vendors, good food and free entertainment. Please don't miss this opportunity to improve your health, do a good deed, and have a ton of fun!

SCHEDULE

• 7:30 AM: SIGN IN BEGINS - Get your bib number, T-shirt, map course
• 8:20 AM: Meet at the fountain for a pep talk and final instructions
• 8:30 AM: RACE BEGINS - Good Luck and have fun
• 9:45 AM (APPROXIMATE): Awards presentation
