42nd Annual Causeway Run & Walk

Event Details

Scheduled for the 11th of April, 2026, the 42nd Annual Causeway Run & Walk promises to be even bigger and better. This year's event will also follow the 6.2 mile (10K) course starting at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center, continuing on to the Queen Isabella Causeway and over the Laguna Madre Bay and ending in front of Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island. Awards and snacks will be held immediately following the race/walk inside Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island.

Event Schedule

• START: Causeway Run starts at 7:00 a.m. sharp at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center.
• Fitness Walk: Starts at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center at 7:30 a.m.
• Note: ONLY the 10K is a timed event. The 5K is not timed!

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION (Before March 10, 2026 @10pm):
$45 (10k Run); $40 (5K Walk); Students & Military with ID $30 (10K Run or 5K Walk).

ON SITE REGISTRATIONS/LATE REGISTRATIONS (After March 10, 2026 @10pm):
$50 (10K Run); $45 (5K Walk); Students & Military with ID $35 (10K Run or 5K Walk).
Students and Military (only military individual qualifies for discount) Must provide valid ID during packet pick up.

Race Course

• 10K (6.2 mi.): Starts at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center and ends at Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island. One major incline. Water stations at locations along course and at the finish line. Police and EMS protection is provided.
• FITNESS WALK COURSE: 3 miles. This course starts at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center and ends at the Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island.

ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RUN OR WALK!

Awards & Presentations

Medals will be given to the overall 1st through 3rd male and female winners as well as 1st through 3rd place winner in each male and female age division of the 10K. Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. PARTICIPANTS CROSSING THE FINISH LINES WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS. (while supplies last)

Shuttle busses will be provided.
