The Dirt Circuit

Nestled around a finger of Cherokee Lake, Panther Creek State Park presents the perfect backdrop for The Dirt Circuit, a fall ultra-marathon event. Offering 3, 6, 12, and 24-hour races, this event is sure to challenge runners of all backgrounds and abilities.

Race Information

The Dirt Circuit is a 3-mile trail course that winds gently around the park, offering scenic views of Panther Creek. The race starts and finishes at the soccer fields, serving as Base Camp for the weekend. The course is marked with flags and tape, and headlamps are encouraged for night running.

Runners are responsible for carrying their own hydration systems, and official race numbers must be visible at all times. Relay teams can develop their own strategy for handoffs, and pacing/crewing is permitted.

Registration Information

Event t-shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants, and refunds are not issued for weather-related cancellations. New for 2024 is the 6hr Ruck division, where participants can walk/hike with weighted packs. Finishers will receive a patch upon completion.

Aid Stations

There will be one aid station at Base Camp stocked with water, electrolytes, gels, bars, fruit, snacks, and first aid. Runners are encouraged to bring their own nutrition as well.

Awards

Top finishers in each category will receive awards, and all participants will receive t-shirts and finisher awards if registered within the swag cutoff date. The awards ceremony will follow the last finishers of each race.

Accommodations

Primitive camping is included at Base Camp for Friday and Saturday nights. RV sites and cabins are available at Panther Creek State Park Campground, and nearby hotels are also an option.
