5th Annual Big Game 5K Run / Walk

Race Information

The 5th Annual Big Game 5K Run / Walk is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026. This event supports the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg, encouraging participants to stay fit and contribute to the organization's mission.

The venue and course will utilize the Percival's Island Natural Area and Blackwater Creek Bikeway. The race distance is a 5K (3.1 miles). Participants are encouraged to wear team jerseys or fun attire to show their Big Game spirit.

Events

• 5K: Price: $30 - $40. Time: 10:00 AM EST. Registration Opens October 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM EDT.
• 5K Youth (12 & Under): Price: $15 - $30. Time: 10:00 AM EST. Registration Opens October 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM EDT. Open to ages 12 and under. Note: Youth pricing does not include a race shirt, which can be added for $10.00.

Family Pricing: Register 4 or more immediate family members to save $5.00 per entry. Ends Thursday, February 5th.

Lynchburg Road Runners Club Member Discount: $5.00 discount available for current members. Not applicable to 12 & under pricing. Discount valid until February 1st.

Packet Pickup

• Friday, February 6th: Riverside Runners, 2480 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503 (12pm - 6pm)
• Saturday, February 7th (Race Day): Start/Finish area, Percival's Island, 1530 Concord Turnpike (downtown), Lynchburg, VA (9am - 9:30am)

T-Shirts

Participants registered by Friday, January 16th are guaranteed a commemorative, long sleeve t-shirt. Youth 5K registration does not include a shirt, but it can be added for $10.00.

Awards & Results

Awards for Top 3 Overall Male/Female, Top Male/Female Overall Master (40+), and Top 3 Male/Female in age groups (12 & Under to 70 & Older). Awards will not be mailed.

Finisher Medals

Commemorative Finisher Medal to all Finishers.

Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series

This is the 1st race of the 2026 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series. All finishers are eligible to score points.

Event Policies

• Refund Policy: Non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Cancellation Policy: If the in-person event is canceled, participants will be moved to a virtual event.
• Inclement Weather Date: Rescheduled for Saturday, February 14th, or entries transferred to a virtual event.
• Strollers & Pets: Prohibited.
