About the Event

Event Details

This FREE bike ride commemorates Juneteenth, observed as a federal holiday.

WHEN: Saturday, June 14, 2025
On-site registration at 8am. Online registration closes on Friday at 5pm EST.
Wheels down at 9am.

WHERE: Shawnee Park. Meet at restrooms across from the football field.

Ride Overview

There are three route options. Choose 13, 24, or 50 miles:

  • 13 miler: Begins and ends in Shawnee Park with a loop in Willow Park.
  • 24 miler: Goes through the rolling hills of Cherokee Park, looping around Seneca Park.
  • 50 miler: Goes through Seneca back to Broadway, offering scenic views along Southwestern Parkway and Ohio Levee Trail.

History of Juneteenth

Although the Emancipation Proclamation was signed January 1, 1863, it wasn't until June 19, 1865, that enslaved African Americans received news of their freedom, making Juneteenth a federal holiday in 2020.
