Escape from Ireland's Eye Sea Swim 2025

Event Overview

Welcome to the Escape From Ireland's Eye Sea Swim. This thrilling event features a 2km tidal open water swim from the island of Ireland's Eye to beautiful Claremont Beach, Howth, Co. Dublin.

This swim requires participants to navigate around three low-lying buoys before reaching the shores of Howth. It is essential that swimmers have experience in tidal waters, as this event is not suitable for beginners. We recommend that all participants complete at least three swims of 2.5km in tidal conditions prior to the event date.

• Event Date: June 22, 2025
• Entry Price: 65 EUR until April 29, 2025, then 70 EUR until sold out or June 8, 2025.
• Registration: Pre-registration online only until June 8, 2025 or quota reached. No same-day registration is available.

Schedule

• Race sign on: 07:00 - 08:00 hrs (Scout Den, West Pier, Howth)
• Boat transfer to Ireland's Eye: 07:45 - 08:30 hrs
• Race start: 09:00 hrs
• First Finishers ETA: 09:25 hrs
• Final Finishers: 10:10 - 10:30 hrs
• Prize Presentation: Approximately 10:30 hrs

Participants will receive swim hats, which must be worn throughout the event. Wetsuits are not compulsory but recommended. Wetsuits are mandatory if the water temperature is below 12°C. Please bring your own swim goggles, and swim buoys are permitted. There is a time limit of 90 minutes for this event.
