Join the Froggy Mountain Adventures winter 100-miler group run on February 21, 2026, as a fundraiser for the veterans organization, 22toomany. This event aims to raise awareness for mental health and suicide, inspired by the organizer's personal loss.
This is a self-supported 100-mile run in Galax, Virginia, designed for those who want to brave the cold and potential winter conditions in support of military and veteran suicide awareness. While not an officially permitted event, it's a gathering of friends to run. Some aid may be available, but participants should plan to be self-sufficient. The event has a 40-hour soft cutoff, meaning participants can continue beyond 40 hours and still receive a buckle.
Course Details: The course is located near Galax, VA, on SR612 Trailhead, Foothills Rd. It features a 7.2-mile out-and-back on a gravel road with a significant climb, followed by a descent with scenic views. A 1.35-mile out-and-back on a moderately technical trail is also included. A short jog near the finish completes a 10-mile loop, which will be repeated 10 times. The total elevation gain for the 100 miles is approximately 15,000 feet. Some sections of the gravel road can be slick with ice.
Cost: Registration includes a buckle inscribed with "Dexter's Warrior artwork." Approximately $22 of the registration fee will be donated to #22toomany after taxes and fees.
Registration: Register before February 1st to receive your buckle at the run; otherwise, it will be mailed afterward.
Start Time: Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 6:00 AM ET.
Bib Pickup: Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 166 Old Quaker Road, Galax, VA 24333.
