On January 2, 2027, history will be made in Texas on the "Northeast Texas Trail" aka the NETT, with the launch of the IRON HORSE Endurance Run — the first-ever point-to-point 100-mile foot race in Texas, one of the state’s first 200-milers, and the debut of the legendary out-and-back 100K course. This isn’t just another ultra — it’s the biggest, baddest race Texas ultrarunning has ever seen. Runners will charge across the vast, untamed stretches of the NETT, a flat, open, and deceptively fast corridor that carves through small towns and rugged backcountry on gravel, dirt, pavement, and grass. With full race support, aid stations, and the relentless spirit of Texas grit, this event is built to push the limits of endurance and etch its name into ultrarunning lore. Step onto the tracks, face the endless horizon, and claim your place in the first chapter of a race that will change the Texas ultrarunning landscape forever. Crossing the line doesn’t just get you a buckle — it earns you a piece of history. Each runner will be awarded a custom finisher’s plaque engraved with their name, distance, and route, designed with a built-in buckle holder to showcase their achievement. To make it truly unforgettable, every plaque includes an authentic railroad spike from the Northeast Texas Trail, giving you a lasting piece of the path you conquered and a symbol of the grit it took to finish. More Details to come, stay tuned. This historic race is brought to you by Texas Outlaw Running Company, Sigma Wolf, and all the cities along the NETT.
