Kiwanis Independence 5K

A Charlottesville Holiday Tradition since 1983. This event benefits the Salvation Army - Camp Rappahannock, Central Little League, and Charlottesville Community Bikes. Over $140,000 has been raised for charity over the past 41 years!

• 5K Run/Walk: $35 (price increases after June 30, 2025 at 11:59pm EDT)
• Virtual 5K Run/Walk: $30 (registration ends July 4, 2025 at 11:59pm EDT)

Time: 7:30AM - 9:30AM EDT

Packet Pickup: July 3rd from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Lakeside Middle School and race morning from 6:30 AM.

Course Description: Start at Hollymead Elementary School. Turn right on Powell Creek Drive. Turn right on Shadybrook Trail. Turn left on Turnberry Circle. Continue around the circle and return back and go left on Shadybrook Trail. Turn left onto the short trail. Emerge from trail onto N English Oaks Circle and turn left onto English Oaks Circle. Turn right, follow circle back onto North English Oaks Circle. Turn left onto Kendalwood Lane. Turn right onto Ashwood Blvd. Turn right onto Powell Creek Drive. Turn right to finish back at Hollymead Elementary School.
