Occoneechee State Park Annual Turkey Trot

The 5K Race and one-mile kids fun run is conducted in scenic Occoneechee State Park which borders John Kerr Lake and the attractive lake front town of Clarksville Va... The 5K course consists of paved roads, rolling hills, and lake views as it winds through wooded areas of the park. All proceeds directly benefit Occoneechee State Park by providing funding for projects such as an ADA compliant fishing dock, 18-hole Disc Golf Course, and many other park events, enhancements, and environmental projects. The 5K event is sponsored by the Friends of Occoneechee State Park, a volunteer nonprofit organization.

What: 1 Mile kids’ Fun Run/Walk —10 am
Who: Children 13 and under. Parental assistance and strollers are welcome. All children that participate in the 1 mile Kids Fun Run will receive a medal.

What: 5K Fun Run/Walk —11 am
Who: All ages, walk, run, hop, skip or crawl (Well-mannered leashed pets & costumes welcome). Medals will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers of the 5K and top finisher in the following age groups: Age 14 - 24, Age 25 - 35, Age 36 - 46, Age 47 - 57, Age 58 - 68, Age 69 and up. T-Shirts are available for purchase. Order at the time of registration on or before October 20, 2025. Park entry fee is $7.00 or donate 4 cans of food. Donations are welcome and appreciated.
