The Crooked Canter is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM EST.

Location: Crooked Lake Campground, Dexter, MI 48130, US

Distances

• 1 Loop = 4.33 miles
• 3 loops = 13 miles
• 6 loops = 26 miles
• Backyard style (1 loop per hour, on the hour)
• Run as few, little, often as you like!

Race Information

Each loop is approximately 4.3 miles long. Participants can run one loop or stay for as long as they wish. A bonfire will be maintained, and prizes will be awarded for the fastest loop and most loops. Food and drinks will be available.

Course Information

The course is estimated to be around 4 miles per loop, with frequent hills, roots, and sand. Expect approximately 440 ft of elevation per loop. The race will run clockwise, starting and finishing at the campground.

Cost

$5 (covers food costs; extra funds donated to the FGR XC team)

Timing/Bibs/Awards

This is a group run and not expected to be a highly organized event with chip timing or extensive swag. Hot food and cold drinks will be provided at the end. Prizes for fastest and most loops are possible.

Parking

Limited parking is available at Crooked Lake Campground (first come, first serve). Additional parking is available alongside Silver Hill Rd, about ¼ mile from the start.
