The Devils Race Track Backyard Ultra

Register Saturday, Oct 11, 2025 @ 7:00 AM. This race uses the traditional backyard ultra format. Each hour, on the hour, the horn blows and a new loop begins. Each loop is exactly 4.167 miles and must be completed within the hour to continue. The winner is the last runner to complete a loop.

Course Details: For daylight hours (7am-7pm), the course utilizes the trails of the North Alabama Land Trust, Wade Mountain Preserve, including the Devils Race Track loop. From 7pm-7am, runners use the Spragins Hollow Rd.

Rules: Runners must be in the starting corral when the horn sounds. Each loop must be completed within an hour. No personal aid during a loop. No artificial aids (e.g., trekking poles).

Swag: All runners receive a shirt and finisher cap. Runners reaching 24 hours/100 miles get a buckle.
