Haunted Half, Sinister Six

For years, we’ve talked about putting together a haunted night run—something weird, wild, and absolutely drenched in Halloween spirit—and this year, we finally said: let’s make it happen. Get ready for a fright-filled night of running as we transform our 1.1-mile loop into a haunted trail of screams and things that definitely weren’t there before. We’re decking out the mile in all things spooky and scary—creepy sounds, eerie lights, and maybe some unexpected visitors—so you can enjoy a night of Halloween mayhem, trail-style. Costumes are encouraged and possibly required.... Sanity is optional. Trick-or-treat stations await you each lap. Yes, actual candy. And yes, some of the treats bite back. The “Treat” side? Candy and who knows what else. The “Trick” side? A twist for your next lap. Maybe you’ll have to zombie-shuffle a lap. Maybe you’ll carry a pumpkin. Maybe you’ll scream every time you pass a tree. We’re not telling you what’s in the bag—but it’s cursed, and it’s happening. For Trick you’ll draw from our Bag of Tricks each time around, and whatever you get, you do. This is not a PR kind of race. This is a “laugh-while-you-suffer” kind of fun run. Coyotes have been seen in the area. So has a guy named Randy. Don’t worry. They’re both mostly harmless if you don’t look like a snack. Come run, scream, and repeat. We’ll see you at the starting line—assuming you make it there.

Weather & Rescheduling

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!!! If we are forecasted for storms and dangerous weather we will be bump it up to Friday night if need be. Keep in mind that is the last thing we want to do but just so we have already addressed the possibility. Because let's be honest weather has been nuts this year. We do not offer refunds so please be aware before signing up. Everything from this event will go into making it possible.

The Course

The Murder Mile. The course is housed on private land just 20 minutes from Downtown Franklin . Within 1 mile and 340 feet of elevation gain per loop you’ll encounter two climbs with fast runnable sections between them an an easy downhill section through the field to the start/finish area. The course itself is an old logging road so it’s nice wide double track. The climbs are straight up with no switchbacks and steep grades.

NO PETS ALLOWED VERY IMPORTANT: Absolutely no pets. There are already pets that call this place home, and while we love our furry friends we do not want to disturb and upset the current residents. If you bring a furry sidekick, you will be asked to take them back to their home. THIS IS FIRM SO PLEASE DO NOT THINK WE BEND ON THIS AT ALL.

Awards

Keep in mind this is meant to be FUN but we will award top 3 in both categories for male and female. We will track loops using our foolproof clothes-pin system. Keep in mind these “tricks” could make your loop harder so don’t get too heartbroken over it. You cannot pick treat each loop so do not plan on it. Everyone will be getting tricked.

REFUND POLICY

Important note: There will be absolutely no refunds or deferrals given. Please know when you register for this event, you are donating to covering the costs of bringing all of our trail lovers together. The event is hosted on private land so we will not be relying on Forestry Services or state parks to give us the go-ahead. Now, more than ever, it is important that we support each other as humans and as a community celebrate being out in the woods. We want to bring everyone together with a fun and unique experience all can enjoy. Please know your entry fee is being donated to the human experience and giving those we call friends the gift of a good day in the woods. If there are proceeds will be donated to helping the Jones family to improve and maintain the property so they can keep you coming back year after year.
