26th Annual McElveen Race For The ARK

The 26th Annual McElveen Race For The ARK will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Downtown Summerville. This event includes a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile fun run, both starting and ending at St. Luke's Lutheran Church (206 Central Avenue, Summerville). The USATF-certified course goes through historic downtown Summerville. The 5K starts at 7:45 AM EDT, and the 1-mile fun run begins at 9:45 AM EDT.

Events:

• 5K Run with Dry-fit T-shirt: $35 (Registration ends August 21, 2025 at 5:59 PM EDT)
• 5K Run without Shirt: $25 (Registration ends August 21, 2025 at 5:59 PM EDT)
• 1 Mile Fun Run Single: $10 (Registration ends August 21, 2025 at 5:59 PM EDT)
• 1 Mile Fun Run Family of Four: $30 (Registration ends August 21, 2025 at 5:59 PM EDT)

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers overall and in several age groups. A $100 prize will be awarded to the first male and female to break the course records (15:40 male and 17:51 female).

Registration: Opens May 1, 2025. Packet pickup is from noon to 6 PM on Friday, August 22, at The ARK House and from 6:30 to 7:30 AM on race day. Race-day registration is $40 for the 5K and $15 for the 1-mile fun run (or $35 for a family of four).

Corporate Challenge: Businesses can form teams of five or more. The winning team receives a traveling trophy. Cost is $500.
